Ayesha Shroff’s FIRs Against Sahil Khan Quashed By Court; The Former Says ‘It Was An Out-Of-Court Settlement’
Ayesha Shroff, in a recent media interaction, spoke about the settlement of her business dispute with Sahil Khan.
The Bombay High Court on September 16 quashed two FIRs filed by Jackie Shroff's wife Ayesha Shroff against actor Sahil Khan in Mumbai. The complaint reportedly accused Khan of cheating and criminal intimidation after a business dispute which emerged in 2015. A bench of Justices SS Shinde and NJ Jamadar quashed the two FIRs which were registered by the Bandra police, after Sahil's lawyer and Ayesha told the court that they had settled the dispute between them amicably, reported ETimes.
"It was an out-of-court settlement. But let me tell you I withdrew the cases 5 years ago. It has come to light only now simply because the quashing happened today. There's a procedure that was meant to be followed after the withdrawal of the complaint and that took time," the ETimes report said.
Ayesha Shroff was also asked if there was any money transaction involved in the settlement. She revealed that she can neither dwell on that nor on the reasons why she took the step of withdrawing what she had earlier filed. She continued, "There's an MOU (Memorandum Of Understanding) signed between the two parties which forbids these things to be let out," as quoted by ETimes.
Ayesha reportedly informed the Bombay High Court that while she had also raised an issue of non-payment of dues by Khan worth over Rs 4 crore in her complaint, she decided not to pursue the claim or any other allegations made in the two FIRs.
The bench accepted statements of both the parties and quashed the two FIRs, noting that the case seemed to have arisen out of a 'business dispute'. The court imposed a cost of Rs 1 lakh on Khan and said the money will go to the Maharashtra child welfare committee for the "welfare of children under the state's care".
A PTI report earlier suggested that Ayesha Shroff and Sahil Khan started a production company in 2009. Films like 'Jis Desh Mein Ganga Rahat Hai' and 'Boom' were produced. After Boom flopped in 2003, the company also suffered a loss. According to a Free Press Journal report, Sahil in his media statement had then opened up about his and Ayesha’s affair. After the breakup, she asked for her gifts and money back.
